Jan. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Banerjee got his Engineering Degree from Bihar Institute of Technology (Presently renamed as Birsa Institute of Technology in Jharkhand) in 1968. Next he did his post graduation from IIT Kanpur in 1971. After completing his post graduation, Banerjee got employed in a government service. The fixed work-schedule of government office gave him ample scope to revive his intuitive interest in creative writing. Some of his short stories were published in the reputed e-magazines of their kind like MuseIndia com, sulekha com. After getting them published, he started to receive great applause from the readers. Their active support and constructive feedback inspired Banerjee to go for an anthology of his selected short stories, this time a printed one. This one earned him great reputation from all corners of the readers’ world. After his retirement from the government job, he spends time both in Kolkata and Trivandrum. And the favorite pastime for Banerjee is still writing. Now he is all way to publish a fiction, A life's Journey.

The setting of his novel dates back to the early Twentieth century Bengal. The capital of India has just been shifted from Calcutta to Delhi. The story begins as Lakkhikanto returns to his village leaving his job in Viceroy's office when capital is shifted to Delhi. His mother Rajeshwary looks after her husband's property. Lakkhikanto has two sons from his first wife Surama, who dies while delivering third child. Under pressure from mother Lakkhikanto agrees to marry again but only to a widow. His Sons Sourabh and Rajat start small enterprises. Rajat had a short stint at Shantiniketan. He came close to Tarashnkar during a school function. He remains Rajat's benevolent guide till his death. Rajat's son Vasudev wishes to open an outlet for Tractor. He cannot venture big as his father had lost most of his earning when many banks collapsed during Second World War. While trying to get clearance from government office, Vasudev comes across Imtiaj, whose grandfather happened to be Lakkhikanto's colleague in Viceroy's office. Henceforth the story takes a turn. What is the new acquaintance going to unfurl? Find the pre-independence Bengal with its true concerns and values through the pages of A life's Journey.
