Ballroom Dancers Dance for Needy Children! - Valentine's Day!

Jan. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- On Valentine's Day, Thursday, February 14, 2013, Detroit Ballroom Stars dance for needy and at-risk children.

The Detroit Ballroom community will have dinner and dance, from 7pm to 12am, at a fundraiser and raise money to help the children entering and exiting the foster care system.

The I Choose You-Gives non-profit organization and I Choose You Ballroom Studio have partnered with other ballroom dancers in Detroit to put together this event.  This event donation is $25.00 entry fee and only $50.00 for each contestant.

We, at I Choose You-Gives, have many events planned to help these needy and hurting children. Sometimes it’s about having fun while we work at this awesome task. There are many children in Michigan that need our services and dancing is a way to address the need, have fun and get some exercise while working for this special population of our society.

I Choose You, our ballroom studio, has had students from age 9-89. Our nine year old danced with every lady in the class. He was not intimidated by his height or the ladies height. He loves ballroom dancing.

We want to offer ballroom dancing to every child who wants to take a class.  

We want to change the way our children view the world and the part they play in the world. Show them the benefit of wholesome living. Build self esteem. They should know that you can go to a party and have a good time without drugs or alcohol and dance in a classy graceful manner. We want them to know that they are special. They matter. They are loved. They are important.

Our ballroom competition will be held at the Showplace, 2140 Holbrook near I 75 in Hamtramck.  Dancers from ballroom classes across Michigan are welcome and encouraged to compete.  If you are in need of hotel or car accommodations, please contact Mrs. Pat Jones at 313-404-6011 for more details.
