Whitesands Capital Report Hong Kong Teenagers Optimistic On Financial Future.

While many of them have only just received their examination results, many school leavers have begun thinking about their future financial prospects. The report concludes that it seems as though most of them are feeling optimistic about their financial outlook.

Whitesands Capital reported that results from the survey show that many young people in Hong Kong  expect to own their houses by the age of 28,  this despite the fact that this is four years earlier than the national average of 32. Additionally, 25% of school leavers surveyed believe that their first salary is likely to be about $274,000 HKD or equivalent to $35,000 USD.

Whitesands Capital report also went on to show that many students are also very clear about the future employment that they would like to be involved with. The research revealed that healthcare still remains the career path of choice for the countries women with over 20% of girls choosing to pursue this profession; it currently remains more popular than careers in education and fashion. On the other hand, Hong Kong Men tend to select jobs in the IT and Finance industries with 25% of those surveyed expressing a fondness for these key corporate sectors. These are followed by careers in engineering and the shipping industries. Furthermore, a total of 32% of the combined males and females surveyed hope to own their own company, although more Men would rather be their own boss than Women.
