Teachers With Apps named Brush of Truth one “of the best apps available to promote the creative learner in the classroom.” “Brush of Truth, developed by Story Bayou, Inc., is an extremely clever interactive book app,” according to Teachers With Apps. “It can be customized for the needs of the reader, by the reader… Brush of Truth is an engaging tale for tweens 8-12 years old, including reluctant readers.” The app won the 2012 Media of the Year award in Interactive Books from Creative Child Magazine. It has been named a “Recommended iPad Book App for Older and Reluctant Readers Ages 8-12” by Digital Storytime, and one of “6 Interactive Book Apps to Get Kids Excited About Reading” by Tecca. Free Common Core-aligned lesson plans are available for Brush of Truth on the Story Bayou website. “Teachers are using Brush of Truth to inspire creative writing lessons, to engage them in writing their own multiple-ending stories, and to get them excited about reading,” said Julie Landry Laviolette, founder of Story Bayou and author of Brush of Truth. Laviolette, a longtime journalist and writer, founded Story Bayou to develop interactive book apps for tweens.
