| New methods to clean chalkboards todayChalkboards need a regularly cleaning. Therefore they have to consider a lot – read good tips.
By: Woodcon Chalkboards need both daily cleaning and periodic detail cleaning in order to prevent permanent marks from developing on the boards. When inspected closely, a chalkboard is a rough surface. If they look at it under a microscope it looks like it has ridges, or high and low points. When chalk is moved across the surface, the high points capture the chalk and it is then deposited into the low points. Because of this, daily erasing won't completely remove the chalk from the board. Over time, chalk, dust and oil from hands build up in the pores of the chalkboard. This build-up makes the surface smooth, which makes it difficult for the chalk to deposit in the low points. This is when detail cleaning is needed. There is a process to follow for those who wonder how to clean a chalkboard. Fortunately, the best cleaning product for chalkboards is that which all of us already have – water. While there are no fancy removal products, there are some methods to speed up the job and make their efforts more effective. Make sure the erasers are clean by either vacuuming them with an eraser cleaning machine, or rubbing them clean with soft cloths. Erase the whole chalkboard with the erasers. Clean the erasers then wipe the board with soft cloths. It's best to move the cloths either vertically or horizontally - don't do both and don't move them in a circular motion. If the chalkboard is really dirty, add 1/2 cup of vinegar to a bucket with warm water. If their product display board is made of chalkboard paint, make sure to clean it frequently.
