options contract to provide secure document shredding of confidential materials to Gilmore Services of Pensacola. The region covered is for all State of Alabama facilities throughout the 28 counties from Montgomery to Mobile which include: Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, Covington, Geneva, Houston, Henery, Dale, Coffee, Conecuh, Monroe, Cark, Washington, Barbour, Pike, Crenshaw, Butler, Choctaw, Marengo, Wilcox, Dallas, Lowndes, Montgomery, Bullock, Macon, Russell, Lee and Elmore. Gilmore states, “In times of stiff competition, against some of the largest national companies in our industry, this award is just one more affirmation of the exceptional quality of all the services delivered by our fine people.” Mr. Gilmore goes on to say, “It’s great to see that all of the work and resources we have put into security measures, monitoring systems, and employee selection is being recognized as one of the most security conscious organizations providing services to each citizen and govermental organizations within the state.” One of the key considerations for awarding the contract was the fact that Gilmore Services is one of the few companies operating in South Alabama area certified by The National Association of information Destruction, (NAID). Bob Johnson, Executive Director of NAID, and a person who has been instrumental in advising governmental agencies for more than a decade about document security after hearing of the awarding of the contract said he was pleased to see state agencies moving toward a more secure practice in handling taxpayer information. Mr. Johnson added, “The companies that go through the rigors of our certification process do it at a great deal of expense and time. It shows that they really are as concerned for their customers’ information as the customers themselves are. It is one true measure that really differentiates the companies involved in the handling of confidential personal, corporate, and government data.” The State of Alabama’s three year contract commences December 1, 2012 and has an option for an additional 2 - year period.
