DECEMBER 7th, 2012 – Hayes Software Systems (HSS), provider of industry leading automation solutions for K-12 administrators, has partnered with Pearson, the global leader in learning technology, to provide a complete software and services solution for school districts across the country.

Hayes Software Systems will assist Pearson to provide complementary functionality to the industry leading student information system (SIS), PowerSchool, and award-winning instructional management system, Schoolnet.  Hayes Software Systems’ TIPWeb solution will allow districts to automate the management of instructional materials and mobile learning devices as well as help determine device effectiveness in the classroom.

“We are very focused on aiding our customers as they face the challenges of 1:1 initiatives,” says Silver McDonald, SVP of Sales and K12 District Solutions, at Pearson.  “Everyone wants to see success as technology is utilized in education. Providing our customers with an integrated solution that allows them to efficiently track and manage technology assets as well as determine the ROI of those devices is a tremendous benefit to our districts, students, and the community.”

The data collection and tracking methodologies of the TIPWeb platform supports both district fiscal responsibility and asset transparency.  Customers are able to manage all ends of the 1:1 spectrum, enabling districts to track which students are responsible for each device, damages, payments, and life cycle management.  By managing assets more effectively, districts are able to reduce losses and over-ordering and decrease inefficiencies all of which save districts money.   In addition to creating more efficient means of managing and tracking their assets, it also provides administrators with a complete view of the utilization of all mobile learning devices and how many students are using each type.  HSS and Schoolnet school systems now have a way to measure device ownership against student achievement to determine the effectiveness and ROI of integrating technology into the classroom environment, often a challenge of both 1:1  and BYOD (bring your own device) initiatives.

“Our objective is helping automate business processes and creating efficiencies.  And we have a long history of saving districts time, resources, and money on anything from textbooks to iPads.  But what is truly rewarding is how, with this partnership, we can better help contribute to the success of our customers’ new challenges and initiatives.” says Matt Winebright, Director of Sales and Business Development.  “Whether it’s providing software, guidance, or best practices, together we are doing some really exciting things for school systems.”
