Stock Development presents donations to Builders Care

Dec. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Stock Development, a premier Southwest Florida development firm, has launched a unique program, pledging support to Builders Care through each home sale in its Paseo Community in Fort Myers. Stock Development presented a check to Builders Care based on its third quarter sales in the amount of $2,900 raising the total donation this year to $9,200. As a certified building partner, Stock Development is donating $100 from each home sale to Builders Care, providing funding to assist them in helping local homeowners in need of renovations. In addition, Stock Development and building partners with Builders Care, recently completed a brand new home for a South Fort Myers family in need.  The $175,000 home build project was completed in just 17 days and revealed to the Garcia family right before Thanksgiving.  Stock Development also reached out to its business partners to help “STOCK” the home for the Garcia family resulting in nearly $10,000 in additional funds.  One of Stock’s business partners stepped up with a donation of $3,000 to Builders Care to help with the Garcia project.

“The support of Stock Development and their partners is another example of the amazing commitment that we have to our community,” said Butch Ritter, president of Lee BIA Builders Care. “This is truly a way to give to those in need since 100 percent of donations stay right here in Lee County.”

The funds provided by Stock Development’s home sales in Lee County will provide wheelchair ramps, handicap accessibility, widened doorways, roof and air conditioning repairs and more.

Builders Care is the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA). Its mission is to provide emergency repairs and construction services to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged people who are unable to obtain home repairs through traditional means. Builders Care enlists the volunteer services of Lee BIA members and leverages grants and donated materials to provide construction and remodeling services to qualified homeowners throughout Lee County. Donations can be made to the Builders Care general fund at BB&T Page Field branch at 4959 South Cleveland Avenue in Fort Myers.
