BERING is inspired by Arctic beauty. One of the founders, Rene Kaerskov wanted to capture the moment of his landing at the North Pole that was marked by the beauty of the eternal ice and the infinite flat expanse of the Arctic landscape. The idea was to create a timepiece using ceramic - pure white and pleasant to the touch, reminiscent of the cool, simple beauty of the flawless white of the ice.

With two other partners, BERING was born. The brand name pays homage to Danish explorer Vitus Bering, who set sail for uncharted areas in the Arctic exactly 280 years before Rene, and was the first European to discover what is now named Alaska.
