New Programme takes risk out of donor campaigning

Leading arts fundraising company The Phone Room has just launched a new programme which gives arts venues a cast-iron guarantee they will not be left out of pocket by investing in its services.
 
Nov. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- By combining its expertise with that of sister company DDA and social media experts Voice, The Phone Room promises to turn audience and visitor databases  into regular donations and says it will refund the difference if organisations don’t collect more money than they pay out

David Dixon, Director of The Phone Room, said: “Everyone knows they need to invest in fundraising, but they also know they can’t afford to take risks. In 20 years’ of running campaigns for arts organisations, we’ve never lost money for a client.

“Now we’re building on that knowledge and experience to offer clients the guarantee that they will never pay us more money than they raise through our work.”

Well-known industry expert Dixon, whose knowledge of audience and visitor fundraising comes from his time at Oxfam and the Oxford Playhouse and consultancy work across Europe, says most organisations are failing to capitalise on potential fundraising opportunities and, as a result, are missing out on tens of thousands of pounds worth of income.

“The most valuable people are those already on your database, yet very often organisations don’t have the skills to turn those contacts into donations. Not only do we do that very successfully, but a large part of the income we generate comes from direct debits, which provides an extremely reliable source of income and helps create a long-term fundraising programme,” he added.

The Phone Room’s two-phase Audience and Visitor Fundraising Programme includes database segmentation, creation of fundraising letters and scripts, training of agents in local venue knowledge, social media support, a complete donor development plan and ongoing fundraising strategies.

Estimates show that venues can expect to raise at least £20 for every conversation held during the first phase of the programme, with the potential running into hundreds of thousands of pounds.

With more than two decades experience in the industry, The Phone Room already works with clients including the Hallé Orchestra, the Watermill Theatre in Newbury, The British Museum and Chichester Festival Theatre
