Turning Winds Academic Institute Pushes Leadership

Turning Winds Academic Institute is a therapeutic academic boarding school that accommodates struggling teens both male and female from a variety of backgrounds. Turning Winds Academic Institute encourages the growth and leadership of students in a number of their programs. One of the most productive programs for the students is the Venturing Crew supported by Turning Winds Academic Institute. The “Venturing Crew allows young men and women to focus on leadership development and engage in high adventure activities,” says academy representative John Baisden.

For these students, part of self-growth and discovery comes from the leadership skills they develop on these outdoor adventures. Not only do they push themselves physically but mentally as well. Besides Turning Winds Academic Institute’s support for outdoor recreational activities, they also promote community service work. For many of these teens, little thought has been placed upon the benefits everyone receives from helping out their communities. “Turning Winds Academic Institute engages in many service projects to its’ surrounding communities as we feel that one of the greatest contributions we can make is that of giving of ourselves as we strive to instill that in each one of our students,” explains John Baisden.
