Kendal at Lexington Welcomes New Director of Marketing

With a background in the fields of marketing and gerontology, Melissa is a natural fit for the role of Director of Marketing at Kendal. This position was most recently held by Charlotte Sibold, who was promoted to Assistant Administrator.

Melissa holds a Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University, a Master’s degree in Adult Development and Aging from Virginia Tech, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from Virginia Tech’s Center for Gerontology.

Professionally, Melissa offers over a decade of experience in marketing and public relations. She most recently managed the web marketing and search engine optimization for a large company on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Melissa has also worked for Imperial Plaza, a retirement community located in Richmond, VA, as well as the Senior Center of Richmond.

As Director of Marketing, Melissa will develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan designed to support Kendal’s strategic and financial goals. She will oversee all digital and print advertising, plan onsite and offsite events, and use analytical assessments to measure and track outcomes. Melissa will also spearhead public relations and community outreach initiatives. Most importantly, she will develop relationships with potential residents to best understand their personal needs and goals.

Melissa is originally from Clifton Forge, VA and now lives in Lexington with her two young daughters.
