Best Western India Appoints Michael J Robertson Director-Projects & Technical Services

To Provide Operational And Management Support To BWI Member Hotels

Nov. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Mr. Michael J Robertson has joined Best Western India as Director-Projects & Technical Services of Best Western India, part of the world largest Hotel Chain.  

Mr Robertson will be providing operational and management support to our member hotels. He would also be supporting design implementation and technical services during the construction phase of our member hotels

Mr. Robertson’s last assignment was with Best Western Premier Vedic Village, Kolkata He played an instrumental role in envisioning and developing this world class resort and spa. The Resort has been ranked as one of the top 10 Spa Resorts of the Country and it’s tea lounge, ‘Chai’ is one amongst the Top 7 tea lounges in the world. He was heading the operations and marketing of the hotel as Chief Executive Officer for the last several years. Prior to that he was heading the prestigious Tollygunge Club, Kolkata as its CEO He is a veteran in the hospitality industry. He is a well known Human Resource and Corporate Communications Professional and has worked in both the Private and Public Sectors for almost 40 years holding senior positions in renowned companies including Andrew Yule, Dunlop India, Tractors India Ltd(The Caterpillar Dealership), Tollygunge Club Ltd & Best Western Premier Vedic Village Spa Resort.

Mr. Robertson is considered an expert in the Lifestyle, Club and Leisure industry and is also well versed about the Tourism Industry of West Bengal which he has promoted in India and abroad.  He has served as a member of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce Committee and the Calcutta I Care Committee for a number of years and is the Chairman – Tourism and Kolkata Municipal Corporation –PPP Committee.

He is a graduate from St Xavier’s College Kolkata.  He was a Colombo Plan Scholar under the Government of India in the UK at Ilkley College under the University of Leeds where he studied the Impact of Privatisation on UK Industry.  He was further deputed under the Commonwealth Office of Information on a Special Study of the Excellent Companies of the UK where he was given a deep professional insight into the working of top UK Organisations.
