By: Beadz and Bloomz A Californian woman who knows what it means to "grow up country" will enjoy a taste of Nashville when her jewelry designs are showcased at the official celebrity gift lounge in honor of The 46th Annual CMA Awards October 29 - November 1, 2012. Heather Duby-Tharpe, sole proprietor and designer of Beadz and Bloomz (http://www.beadzandbloomz.com/) Growing up in the rural Central Coast area of California, Duby-Tharpe was immersed in country living, from raising livestock and growing produce, to 4-H and country music. It wasn't all farm chores, however. The innovative heir to a creative family, Heather also dabbled in a wide variety of artistic media, priding herself in “taking anything and making it into something amazing.” The multi-talented artisan found herself embracing a new medium a year ago––copper. Single-handedly hand-cutting, buffing, sanding, the artist enjoys the beautiful and unexpected results that emerge each time from the process of copper jewelry creation. Now married to a country music singer-songwriter, her life continues to embody the creative heart and soul of Nashville In Southern California. "It's thrilling to think I used to listen to country music on my WalkMan while doing chores like feeding the livestock, and that now my designs will be in the hands of these same fabulous singers and musicians," Duby-Tharpe says. About Beadz and Bloomz From her Beadz and Bloomz studio at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, Heather Duby-Tharpe pushes the creative limits of copper jewelry, employing a wide range of techniques from etching and hammering to integrating vintage elements or gemstones.
