Jailbreak iOS 6 (Untethered) iPhone 4 and 3GS with Redsn0ws

Oct. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- The tethered jailbreak is a jailbreak is not able to boot with the device. At each reboot (after the battery have been emptied or when rebooting) should be connected iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to a PC to restart. This is rather detrimental and it is for this reason that the tethered jailbreak are often discouraged on iPhone.
An untethered jailbreak works even during a reboot of the device. The jailbreak is perfectly integrated and it becomes invisible. All stable jailbreak solutions work this way.

Step
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage

You will need:
- On an iPhone 4 or 3GS
- Firmware iOS 6 for iPhone (if it is not yet iOS 6): HERE
- The latest version of Redsn0w for WINDOWS, 0.9.15b1 download HERE

Extract the RedSn0w zip file to the Pwnage folder.
Second step:
If you have not yet updated iOS 6 install via iTunes

How to jailbreak iO6 for iPhone and iPod touch with Redsn0w 0.9.15b:

Select your iPhone in the Devices list on the left. Now hold down Shift and click the Restore button. Restore is preferred as it will not create any wasted space on your iPhone.

Navigate to the Pwnage folder on your desktop and select the 6.0 firmware ipsw. Click the Choose button to continue.

iTunes will now update your iPhone to the new firmware.

Important **: If you want to keep your unlock Ultrasn0w then follow the instructions to update.

Third step
Right-click or Ctrl-click redsn0w application from the redsn0w folder we extracted earlier and select Run as administrator from the context menu that appears.

Fourth step
Once RedSn0w opens make sure your device is connected and click Jailbreak

Fifth step
Turn off your device, then click Next

Step Six
RedSn0w will now guide you through the steps to enter DFU mode.
Hold both the Home button and the Power button for 10 seconds.

Release the Power button and hold the Home button until RedSn0w detects the device.

Step Seven
Your iPhone will now be operated with limera1n.

Step Eight
RedSn0w will now prepare the jailbreak data.

Step Nine
Select Cydia from the list of options, then click Next.

Tenth step
Your iPhone will now redémarer again and RedSn0w will begin uploading the new ramdisk.
Step Eleven
Once this is complete, you will be notified that RedSn0w is done and it is a tethered jailbreak.
BOOT captive
Once you have jailbroken you will need to rerun redsn0w to start in online mode.
In the main menu click on the RedSn0w Extras button.
Simply select boot from the Extras menu to boot into tethered and follow the instructions to put your device in DFU mode again to start.
