Oct. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- The Cache Valley Conjurers and the USU Illusionists have joined forces to host competing magicians from throughout the area at USU's Taggart Student Center Auditorium (TSC 227) at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012. Any interested magician can compete, but acts are limited to just 8 minutes. Stage magic, illusions, close-up magic, and even mentalism are all welcome. Three prizes will be awarded by a panel of three judges, headed by magician Brad Bonar, Jr., joined by two non-magician judges. Entertainment value will be the primary criterion used by the judges to award the $100 first prize, $50 second prize and $25 third prize. In addition, the audience will determine the winner of a $50 "People's Choice" award.

Logan deceptionist Richard Hatch of the Hatch Academy of Magic and Music will MC the event and perform during the judging phase. Anyone interested in competing should call Steven Viator at 435-770-0730 or Richard Hatch at 435-932-0017 to reserve a spot in the competition. There is no charge to compete.
