Benevole Hosts Be a Hero for Veterans Day

Benevole hosts "Be a Hero", a donation drive for Heroes Place, a DC non-profit that works with homeless veterans

Oct. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Washington, DC based Benevole, Inc., a non-profit organization, will host “Be A Hero” at Heroes Place, located at 1204 Queen St. NE in Washington, on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 12 pm until 4 pm.  Heroes Place is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to homeless veterans.  “Be a Hero” will collect black, navy, and brown suits for men and women (new or gently used) as well as toiletries, hygienic items, and monetary donations.  All donations will go directly to the veterans of Heroes Place to assist them as receive much needed support to gain their independence. Heroes Place also welcomes volunteers to conduct workshops, including resume writing, interviewing skills, and computer training.  

“It is our pleasure to serve the men and women in uniform this one day, who protect our freedom and liberty 365 days a year. Benevole is committed to our troops, stateside and abroad,” said George L. Slaughter, CEO and President of Benevole.  “With the bravery and selflessness that our veterans displayed by serving in the military, there is no reason why they should not have a job and a place to live waiting for them when they return home.  Benevole is happy to support an organization that combats homelessness and provides so many worthwhile programs to our servicemen and women.”
