By: The Huffhines Art Trails The festival will be held in Huffhines Park at 1500 Apollo Road in Richardson, near Fire Station #4, and admission and parking are free. Huffhines Park encompasses nearly 55 acres of breathtaking hiking/biking trails, two lakes, picnic and playground equipment and more. It’s the ideal setting for family, photos and creativity. Live music will be performed on the Front Porch Stage and a dance floor is available for anyone who wants to move to the beat. Additional live entertainment will be provided by local musicians and performing arts groups in the Café Huffhines Courtyard. “We expect more than 150 artisans and craftsmen to show their work during the festival, and some will provide public demonstrations, weaving and sculpting. It’s the perfect place to find that one-of-a-kind gift for family, friends or yourself,” said Suzanne Etman, community events manager for the City of Richardson. Artwork will be available for purchase in various mediums – oil painting, acrylic, photography, woodwork, pottery, glass, jewelry, metal work, leather and more. A wide selection of festival foods, beer and wine also will be available for purchase. Among them will be sliders, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, fried pies, frozen yogurt pops, funnel cakes, soft pretzels, roasted nuts and fried bologna sandwiches. In addition, WFAA-TV Channel 8 personalities Colleen Coyle, meteorologist, and Monika Diaz, senior reporter, will be in attendance as part of the broadcaster’ “The Huffhines Art Trails Festival is a great place to spend some fun, quality family-time. That’s why Family First is involved with the event. We want to help introduce our audience to the festival and its artists and other participants. Also, last year’s WFAA talent really enjoyed being able to visit with people in and around Richardson,” The Huffhines Art Trails Festival was created by the City of Richardson to provide local artists and craftsmen a venue to promote and sell their work. Today it is one of the premiere arts and crafts shows in North Texas. For more information, visit www.huffhinesarttrails.com or call 972-744-4580. Media Contacts: Jo Trizila TrizCom Inc.
