San Francisco's "Moth for Pervs” takes over NYC with two nights of dirty storytelling

Oct. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- San Francisco, CA – Bawdy Storytelling, the nation’s original Sex+Storytelling series, is coming to New York City for two nights of true-life, over-the-top tales, all shared onstage by some of the most well-known names in the sex-positive, kink, performance and storytelling communities. Storytellers taking the stages on October 25th and 26th to share their sexual exploits will include writer, speaker and “SuperNova of Kink” (as quoted by Dan Savage) Midori (http://www.planetmidori.com/); Mike Daisey of NPR’s This American Life and The Agony & the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs; sex educator & storyteller Ducky Doolittle (http://www.duckydoolittle.com/) (author of Sex with the Lights On, Host of Dirty Bingo), kinky author Laura Antoniou (http://www.lantoniou.com/) of the Marketplace & Leather Women series, with many more names to be announced soon. Bawdy is hosted, curated (and founded) by San Francisco’s underground sex party architect and connoisseur Dixie De La Tour.

Bawdy Storytelling (which is now approaching its sixth year in the Bay Area), features real people and rockstars sharing their bona fide sexual exploits in 10 minutes or less – with no scripts, no nets and no holds barred. “Our San Francisco show is typically made up of true stories from folks who submit their story to me for each month’s theme, so we often have no idea who’s in the line-up until just before the event,” says the show’s founder. “We use storytelling to educate (you’re learning from their mistakes of others – and pretty often, it’s damn funny, too) and as a roadmap to finding your people and the experiences you crave (by noting the storyteller’s successes, and the when/where/how that they lay out). And modeling aside, who isn’t interested in knowing the juicy details of other people’s sex lives?”

The rules are simple: All stories told at Bawdy Storytelling are a) told to the audience, and not read off of paper, b) about sex, kink or gender, c) told by the person who lived the adventure being shared, and d)  told in 10 minutes or less.  “Bawdy Storytelling promises you a night of AT LEAST a half dozen truly shocking tales on October 25th and 26th and hell, we believe everyone has a good story buried away. Pitch us your story – there’s no telling who could be next up on the Bawdy stage. It's not about who you are - it's about sharing your own outrageous true story, and building sex-positive community and acceptance of other lifestyles in the process.”

The October 25th “Bawdy Luxe” show (co-produced with Midori (http://www.planetmidori.com/), tickets $20) will take place at a private loft in Manhattan, with the address e-mailed after ticket purchase http://bawdyluxe.eventbrite.com. The Friday, October 26th show, themed “No Holds Barred!” will take place at Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO, located at 16 Main St., Brooklyn, NY with tickets sold on their website ($15).
