17 and Growing - Carlisle Events Adds Yet another Show to its Season Schedule

Oct. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Carlisle Events is at it again, adding another automotive themed event to its portfolio of activities.  The new venture, known as Auto Mania, will take place January 18-20, 2013 and will be held at the Allentown Fairgrounds in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  While this event is new to Carlisle's schedule, it's a more than two decades old staple of the collector car community in Allentown.  Prior to its acquisition by Carlisle Events, Auto Mania was previously owned and operated exclusively by Bill and Tonya Miller, son and daughter-in-law of Carlisle Events co-owner and co-founder Bill Miller, Jr.  With their backing, the event grew in size over the years and its success has been a calling card for collectors regionally to attend as they further at home projects throughout the cold weather months.  

Though sold out annually with a waiting list, the event is small by Carlisle standards.  Auto Mania's host property, the Allentown Fairgrounds, covers just 46 acres.  The event itself takes place within a singular building and while it boasts just over 200 vending spaces, it is unquestionably Pennsylvania's largest indoor fully heated swap meet.  Included within the 200+ vending spaces is a car corral.  This allows buyers and sellers alike to deal directly with each other, all while working towards a deal which will see a collector car change hands.

"I purchased this event more than 10 years ago because it was very much an automotive themed event," noted Bill Miller, III.  "There was a great vendor base that I had known from shows at Carlisle and since then, I've furthered my relationship with them," continued Miller.  "At the same time, I knew the day would come where Carlisle Events would become the main promoter of the weekend.  I'm confident that with our massive expansion over the past three months, that everyone will benefit from this business transaction.  With the depth of experience that Carlisle Events brings to Allentown and Auto Mania, everyone will be better for it.  I'm looking forward to continuing my work with everyone, while also ushering in a new chapter in Auto Mania history this January."
