Aspen Dermatology New Name for Vail Dermatology’s Basalt Location

Sept. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Vail Dermatology announced today that it chose Aspen Dermatology as the new name for its Roaring Fork Valley (Basalt/ Willits/ El Jebel area) location, which is moving from its current location to 261 Robinson Street, C100, Basalt, Colo. 81621. As of November 1, 2012, the new Aspen Dermatology phone number will be 970-927-2800 and the new website will be www.aspendermatology.com.
Karen Nern, M.D. founded Vail Dermatology in 2004, and expanded her practice to the Basalt area in 2010. She continues to offer appointments and treatments there today. Until November 1, 2012 the company will operate from their current location in the Willits Medical Center.
Vail Dermatology and Aspen Dermatology will become independent clinics as of November 1, 2012. Each practice will continue to offer appointments with Board Certified Dermatologists Karen Nern, M.D., and Clare Foss, M.D., as well as Sarah Youngblood, PA-C. Both clinics will offer dermatologic care including medical procedures such diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, psoriasis, acne, warts, hair conditions, moles, excema, rashes, as well as Mohs surgery. Cosmetic services offered include photofacials, dermal needling, fractional resurfacing, CoolSculpting, chemical peels, and more.

The change to Aspen Dermatology was inspired by Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs’ patients’ recommendations. The change is being made to express a brand more tailored to locals’ wants and needs.
“There will be a number of similarities between the two practices; the wide open spaces, waiting rooms with beautiful windows looking out on the mountains of Colorado, the warm welcoming staff, and the newest equipment and technologies. However, Aspen Dermatology will have larger examination and treatment rooms, a greatly expanded Skin Shop for patient’s prescription and non-prescription skin care needs. There is also one fun new item for the cosmetic patient who wants to keep a low profile; our new ‘secret door’,” Tom Nern continued. “We have become more local in our services, and feel that the name of our practice should reflect the changes, patients will no longer need to drive to Vail for any services we offer.”
After the name change, the Vail Valley division in Edwards will continue to be known as “Vail Dermatology.”  This brand name is well-known and respected throughout the industry for comprehensive skin care options, including their cosmetic branch, “Skin”. Skin by Vail Dermatology and Skin by Aspen Dermatology will be the cosmetic branches within each location.  All locations, including their retail store in Vail Village, offer medical grade skin care products such as Clarisonic, Obagi, Skin Medica, Skin Ceuticals, and more.
The company has also adopted a new visual identity to help position Aspen Dermatology as a leader focused on providing innovative skin care solutions, but at the same time, create a distinction between the new location name and the leading Vail Dermatology brand.  The identity will be instilled throughout the organization and will include a new website, www.aspendermatology.com.
