www.BDFund.org On the heels of an opposing amicus brief filed by the ACLU, the federal district court allowed the filing of the BDF-LLDF friend of the court brief because it "claims the Government failed to consider evidence of the serious health risks connected with using contraceptive drugs -- an argument not addressed in the parties' briefs." The brief, compiled with the assistance of several medical advisors, concisely summarizes significant increased risks of heart attack, stroke, breast/cervical/ The ruling also recognized the interest of BDF and LLDF based on briefing showing that "the FDA-approved contraceptive methods have the capacity to terminate the life of a human being at the embryonic stage of development." The amicus brief was filed in support of the preliminary injunction motion being argued today by Legatus, a Catholic business organization, along with Weingartz Supply Company and its president Daniel Weingartz.
