Local Optometrist Sets Her Sights On Second Career As The “Digi-Doc” At KISSyourweb.com

Sept. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Local optometrist, Dr. Sandi Eveleth, sets her sights on a second career as “Digi-Doc” at KISSyourWeb.com.

Dr. Eveleth’s passion for web design and digital imaging started back in college while she was studying pre-med. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College, where she took a few courses in computer programming and first discovered her passion for computers. Eveleth continued her studies and became an optometrist, receiving her doctorate from the New England College of Optometry.

Dr. Eveleth has been a successful optometrist in the Fort Myers area for over 22 years. She was the co-owner of Fort Myers Eye Associates, PA where she has cared for thousands of patients through the years. After experiencing a few life-changing occurrences in the last few years, such as the loss of her mother and a home fire, her passion for the web resurfaced.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Eveleth began taking scrapbooking classes with friends and soon found her way into doing digital scrapbooking and website design. She learned Adobe® Photoshop® and WordPress, and continued her education of the web at Southwest Florida College, taking courses in digital and website design. The first website she designed was for her previously owned company, Fort Myers Eye Associates.  She then began designing sites and editing images for friends and family, earning her the nickname of “Digi-Doc.”  Although she loves being an optometrist, she also loves digital design.  At first she struggled to find a way to manage both, but now successfully manages her passion for two careers.

“I love digital design and creating custom websites for others, and decided this is what I really want to do right now in life,” says Eveleth. “I was reluctant to make a career change in the beginning, but knew I had to do it!”

Dr. Eveleth opened the doors to her new business, KISSyourWeb.com, in late 2009 and quickly got her second career off to a fabulous start. “KISS” stands for “Keeping Internet Solutions Simple” and that is just what this optometrist turned “Digi-Doc” does. Eveleth’s web business offers services that include WordPress web design, redesign, SEO, blog development, and social media marketing. Eveleth also offers training courses in her conference center and resource library to help those who would like to learn more about WordPress website and digital design. Dr. Eveleth still practices optometry two days a week, but nurtures her second career as “Digi-Doc” at KISSyourWeb.com the rest of the week. She certainly seems to have found a way to manage her passion for both careers.

Eveleth says she hopes her story empowers other woman and sends them a message that it is never too late to start a new career path and make their dream a reality.
