Bright Computing to Present "Extending HPC Clusters into the Cloud" at ISC Cloud ‘12

Bright CEO Matthijs van Leeuwen will discuss how to extend on-premise HPC clusters into the Amazon EC2 cloud, including how to manage data. Bright Cluster Manager's data aware scheduling capability will be featured.
 
Sept. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- San Jose, California — Bright Computing today announced that Bright CEO Matthijs van Leeuwen will participate in the HPC vendor panel discussion at the ISC Cloud ’12 conference in Mannheim, Germany. The conference is focused on compute and data intensive applications, their resources needs in the cloud, and strategies on implementing and deploying cloud infrastructures, for industry and academia. ISC Cloud ’12 will comprise panel discussions and topical presentations from industry experts, HPC users and technology providers.

Dr. van Leeuwen will discuss a powerful approach to extending on-premise HPC clusters into Amazon EC2 and managing these cloud nodes as part of the local cluster. In addition, he will discuss how Bright’s data aware scheduling both streamlines the use of cloud bursting in HPC and improves user productivity.
