Pulte Homes Donates Home Addition for Aimee Copeland

National homebuilder Pulte Homes has built a new 1,956 square foot addition for Aimee Copeland. Aimee is a young woman who developed a rare bacterial infection called necrotizing fasciitis that resulted in significant health issues including multiple amputations.

The new addition estimated at a value of $150,000 was built with Copeland’s independence in mind. The two-story space features a new bedroom, fitness room for rehabilitation, the new Pulte Planning Center – an open room with accessibility and views to Aimee’s main space, and a study area for her continued education in psychology as well as an elevator to access other parts of the home, such as the kitchen.

Pulte Homes, along with at least 30 trade partners who have volunteered for the project donated their time, expertise and materials to ensure that the home renovation was completed at no cost to the family and prior to Aimee’s return from rehabilitation.

Aimee’s story and recovery inspired many at Pulte and they were compelled to find a way to help. The Pulte team and trade partners worked to build a beautiful new space for Aimee that can help her heal both physically and emotionally.
