Follow on Google News | Final Curtain Call For Berkhamsted CastleFinal performance of the season at Berkhamsted Castle and concerns over whether the charitable events will continue into 2013.
Tickets cost £20 for adults and £12 for children or family tickets are available for £60. Tickets can be purchased online via the Berkhamsted Castle Events’ website or in person via The Berkeley Gallery, Lower Kings Road, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Gates open at 6.30pm with the performance starting at 7.30pm. Picnics are available for pre-order via Bloc Direct. Paul Rozelaar, owner of The Berkeley Gallery has organised the series of theatrical and musical performances over the summer months within the ruins of Berkhamsted Castle including Henry V, Gilbert and Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore and Roald Dahl’s The Twits. This performance – Julius Caesar - will be the last of the 2012 season. Any proceeds from the five events will be distributed between three local charities: The Hospice of St Francis, Iain Rennie and The Pepper Foundation. However, as the sole organiser and financier, Rozelaar is unlikely to hold any further events at the Castle in 2013 without additional assistance. “The sheer administration and organisation of such a venture is enormous, including significant liaison with the Castle and English Heritage”. Rozelaar is keen to point out that local support has been overwhelming and it is clear from the ticket sales and feedback that the community would like to see more events of this kind at the Castle. He says, “I would love to continue into 2013, but will need additional sponsors to help pay for the fixed and administration costs as well as additional support with the organisational aspects.” Any companies interested in learning more with a view to supporting and/or sponsoring Berkhamsted Castle Events with Berkeley Gallery in 2013, should contact Paul Rozelaar on tel: 01442 878300 or by email to: paulrozelaar@ For further information on Julius Caesar, and to purchase tickets, visit www.berkhamstedcastleevents.co.uk or The Berkeley Gallery, Berkhamsted.
