Follow on Google News | Colony Square Hosts Eco-Event Series for World Green Building WeekIn celebration of World Green Building Week, Colony Square is hosting a series of eco-inspired events from Sept 17th- 21st. Each event will spotlight the green initiatives of Colony Square, its tenants and green initiatives throughout the community.
By: Colony Square Midtown The week’s events will include a community farmer’s market, an after-work cocktail party and an “Eco-lounge” Tishman Speyer has long held the belief that sustainable buildings not only benefit the tenants but benefit communities as a whole. For three decades, the company has been committed to developing, redeveloping and operating their buildings with a higher level of efficiency, using technology and innovation to reduce energy use and waste, and manage resources better to create real estate of enduring value around the world. “Over the last five years, Colony Square has been working to improve performance and overall building efficiency”,” Colony Square joins Tishman Speyer properties from across their global portfolio and more than 60,000 sustainable commercial developers globally who are participating in World Green Building Week at their respective properties. Brief event descriptions of Colony Square’s events are as follows: WEDNESDAY, Sept 19 – “Colony Square Community Green Market” 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM This event will be held in the main Peachtree St. courtyard and will feature a range of vendors offering fresh products from local dairies, farms and gardens as well as other locally made green food items. Open to the entire Midtown community, the market will feature live music and possibly a cookbook signing by a local chef. WEDNESDAY, Sept 19 thru FRIDAY, Sept 21 – “Green Office Trunk Show/Eco-Lounge” 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM This experience will showcase an “eco-lounge,” Promotional materials from Colony Square’s green vendors will be available as reading material and a large screen TV/Video Monitor will play a video that provides an overview of the current sustainability practices of Colony Square, featuring call outs for each of our green vendors. An Eco-lounge host will be on hand during open hours to promote and explain the space to guests. Experts are also expected to stop by during lunch hours to meet and greet guest in an informal setting. THURSDAY, Sept 20 – “The Green Scene” 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM This will be a casual after-work meet & greet/cocktail party upstairs on the Plaza Level Patio that honors local sustainability champions and experts. All tenants along with sponsors and GWBC Week participants will be invited. It will include light appetizers provided by a green catering company, a signature green cocktail, beer, wine and live music. A small group of special “Green Expert” guests have been confirmed and will be introduced to guests and invited to speak for 2-3 minutes about w they are, what they do and how they are contributing to the greening of the community.
