Focus on diversified investment strategies at Global AgInvesting Asia

The premier Global AgInvesting series continues in Singapore, Sept. 25-27, 2012

Sept. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- From September 25-27, hundreds of agricultural investors and asset managers from more than 25 countries will convene at the Global AgInvesting(SM) Asia conference in Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands.  Attendees will gain a better understanding of agriculture investment opportunities, risks, and return profiles across global production regions.

This largest gathering of agricultural investors ever assembled in Singapore will be privy to new content designed to highlight vertical investments along the supply chain and strategies to create a diversified ag portfolio.  New topics, including water as an asset class, aquaculture, dairy and livestock plays, and venture capital and agricultural technology, will be presented as supplemental strategies to traditional farmland plays.

Leading farmland investors from Dynasty Family Office, Franklin Templeton Investments and Adveq AG will be on hand to share the key drivers and challenges of including agriculture in the institutional portfolio.  Others, including Stephen Diggle of Vulpes Investment Management, Philippe de Lapérouse, managing director of HighQuest Partners, the global agricultural consultancy that hosts the event, and keynote speaker Jim Rogers, world-renowned investor, will outline the risks and rewards of investing in this emerging class.

“The most promising payback in agriculture is to become a farmer,” said Rogers in an earlier interview, who also noted huge return opportunities in farming for many reasons, but also simply because we need more food to feed the world.  “Farming can once again be one of the great areas of the world economy as economies of scale come into play, higher prices come into play, and technology comes into play. Few are rushing out to buy a farm yet; but it will come.” Rogers will further address this theme in his keynote address.

Other international thought leaders from the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investing (UNPRI), World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and Landesa will highlight the role of private capital in responsibly changing the trajectory of the global food system.

Throughout the event, this swelling group of new investors at Global AgInvesting Asia will experience unrivaled networking opportunities with multiple cocktail receptions, coffee breaks, roundtable discussions and intimate luncheons.
