Sept. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Autogas Limited, a joint venture between Shell and Calor, is set to acquire 18 LPG retail sites from Total as part of a major expansion programme.

The Autogas Limited purchases form part of the Shell acquisition of 253 forecourts from Rontec Investments and reaffirms Autogas Limited as the largest automotive LPG retailer in the UK.

Paul Oxford, business development manager, Autogas Limited, said: “Autogas Limited
already owns 217 forecourt based installations and with these extra 18 additions to the network, plus further expansion planned in the future, we will strengthen our position as the market leader.

“Indeed, affiliated to Shell enables Autogas Limited to benefit greatly from the petrol giant’s acquisition of the 253 forecourts from Rontec Investments. This deal will give us greater scope for future growth and to explore even more new markets.”

Apart from its Shell sites, Autogas Limited, which was formed in 2000, also supplies other independent service stations across the UK.

“This purchase of 18 Total LPG sites is an exciting chapter for Autogas Limited and marks an important milestone in our 12 year history. It will act as a springboard for even further development opportunities and undoubtedly help in our mission to encourage more motorists to switch to the cheaper and cleaner fuel,” added Oxford.
