ReAgent Enjoys 35 Years of Trading

Sept. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- ReAgent supplies a range of ‘off the shelf’ chemicals including Acids, Indicators and Solvents.  They also manufacture testing kits such as Gold Testing Kits to verify the purity of gold and Drug Testing Kits which are used by the Police to identify illegal substances.  ReAgent also offers as bespoke manufacturing service where chemicals can be made to order based on precise customer specifications including strength, grade and pack size.

Based in Runcorn, Cheshire, ReAgent has a wide customer base over a range of industries including engineering companies, pharmaceutical companies, Formula 1 teams, power generation, research establishments and learning institutions.

When the Company first started, it had only 5 members of staff.  Today the business has grown to employ 30 people.  Every year ReAgent supplies thousands of customers from private individuals and sole traders to export houses and multinational organisations.  As the Company has grown it has extended its product range and now offers over 1000 chemical products which can be bought online via the Company’s website.

Starting with one UK warehouse in 1977, the Company purchased a second warehouse in the 1990’s and a third in 2010.  However, if one thing at ReAgent has remained the same throughout this trading period, it is the culture of the Company.  Still privately owned, ReAgent is now headed by Managing Director Richard Hudson, grandson of the original founders.  When the Company was started, the owners took particular care to look after its staff by giving them a generous pension, holiday allowance and life cover, as well as being a flexible employer.  This attitude towards employment has remained a cornerstone to the present day and is reflected by the Company’s accreditation to Investors in People (IIP).  ReAgent is also accredited to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004.  

Richard Hudson comments, “My grandparents’ care and commitment to every member of staff was maintained by my parents when they ran the Company and I am making every effort to continue this tradition.  In the future my goal is to develop ReAgent (http://www.reagent.co.uk/) to become the number one chemical supplier in the UK.  We would like to grow all areas of our business, from ‘off the shelf’ to bespoke chemical products.”
