August was the third strongest sales month in 2012, following a strong July. For the month, print sales were down slightly in August (as compared to July) offset by increased eBook sales. "Sunbury had a very strong summer," said Lawrence Knorr, the CEO. "Sales were up 22% vs. last summer, led by eBooks (up 5x). We are also excited about the increase in international sales and exports." Year-to-date, through the end of August, sales declined 2% as compared to 2011. Print sales declined nearly 17% while eBook sales have soared over 4x. Inventoried books have dropped 30%. The company remains profitable - tracking better than last year despite a slight decline in sales. "If the strong summer trend continues, our sales will exceed 2011 very soon," said Knorr. "To date, we have sold more units, but eBooks are priced lower -- so revenues aren't quite keeping up."
