PEM is backing the Big Push for the Rosie

Peters Elworthy & Moore (PEM) announces the Rosie Hospital Campaign as its chosen charity of the year

Aug. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Following nominations from members of staff and partners at PEM, the independent firm of Chartered Accountants has pledged support across the coming year for the Rosie Hospital Campaign, which is raising essential funds to help expand the celebrated and much-loved maternity hospital in Cambridge.
Paul Chapman, Managing Partner at PEM, says: “We are proud to announce the Rosie Hospital Campaign as our nominated charity of the year and hope to help this essential community cause with a series of firm-wide fundraising activities.”
The Rosie, now 30 years old, is undergoing a new three-storey extension and modernisation programme that will almost double the size of the existing maternity unit – providing pregnant women, their families and new babies with the very best standard of care and facilities that include:
•   A brand new midwife-led birth centre with ten new en-suite rooms.
•   An expanded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with 58 cots for babies who are born early or in need of specialist attention.
•   A new residential centre with eight en-suite bedrooms, a rest area and kitchen for parents that have babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
•   A new Fetal Medicine and Day Assessment Unit.
•   A dedicated counselling suite offering professional support.

These new world-class resources will make an enormous difference to families. The transformed Rosie will also be a regional centre of clinical excellence for training and aims to set new standards of care by advancing antenatal and neonatal development through research.

The Rosie Hospital Campaign, run by ACT – the charity for Addenbrooke's and the Rosie, is supporting the new purpose-built facility, which will put patient care at the heart of an expanded women’s health and maternity service and be a place of primary importance for the coming generations of RosieBorn babies.
Trudy Harper, Community Fundraising Manager at ACT, said: “We are delighted that PEM has chosen to back the Big Push for the Rosie. The fact that this was a team decision makes it extra special and proves that the Rosie is a cause that really resonates with local people. We look forward to working with PEM partners and staff to maximise their fundraising efforts and ensure that any money generated is used to give tiny newborn babies and their families the very best start.”
