Aug. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Sports clubs are renowned for forming the backbone of communities across the region with children and adults enjoying a host of sports from football to hockey to polo. But if your club is struggling for funds leading house builder Miller Homes is celebrating this year’s summer of sport by giving £500 to a local sports club in the region.

Clubs and organisations in Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire are being urged to put themselves forward for the chance to win the pot of cash by collecting an application form from one of Miller Homes’ developments across the region.

Miller Homes regional sales director Steve McElroy said: “To celebrate this year’s famous sporting events we thought it would be great to launch our own Summer of Sport community initiative and are urging as many clubs as possible to apply to be in with a chance of receiving the cash.

“As one of the judges I will be looking for examples of how the sporting clubs in our communities will be able to make the most of our the charitable donation: how it will directly support the learning and fitness of its members that use the facility, and examples of what new equipment it will enable them to buy.”

Community leaders and club managers can pick up an entry form at one of Miller Homes’ marketing suites across the region, and every organisation from a junior football club to a village cricket team is in with a chance if they just enter!

The closing date for entries is Sunday 2nd September 2012 and these will be judged by a panel including former England and Leeds United footballing star, Paul Reaney.

Developments across the region include Flaxton Court, Bradford; Stonebridge Fold, East Ardsley; h2010, Leeds; Miller@Grace, Thornton; Cleminson Halls, Cottingham; Minster View, Gringley-on-the-Hill; The Meadows, Ollerton; Ashtree Park, Sutton-in-Ashfield; Priory Chase, Pontefract and Fairfield Manor, Wakefield.
