Rising Indie-Film Star Jenn Gotzon Leads “I Am Gabriel” First of Nine Faith and Family Films

      LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 28, 2012) – “I am Gabriel,” directed by Mike Norris is an inspirational family drama starring Dean Cain (Superman from “Lois & Clark”), John Schneider (“Smallville,” upcoming “Doonby”), introducing Gavin Casalegno (director Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming “Noah”), Elise Baughman, Carey Scott and Jenn Gotzon (“Frost/Nixon,” upcoming “Doonby”) is distributed by Echolight Studios and releases today in Fry's Electronics, Hasting's, Family Christian Stores and online.

      “I am Gabriel” is a story of miracles, hope and the power of prayer. The faith-based movie takes place in Promise, Texas, an economically dry and dying town with little hope of relief until a boy (played by Casalegno) mysteriously appears. The sheriff (played by Cain) investigates the boy to uncover the identity of the mysterious stranger and the miracles that follow him. His new caretakers (played by Baughman and Scott) are quick to accept the boy’s usage of his prayer mat to talk with God and convince the town he is good. Small-town news reporter Monroe (played by Gotzon) is determined to use these miracle stories to catapult her career for big-time Dallas Morning Freedom all until the death of the town’s doctor (played by Schneider). Cast includes Texas locals: Mike Norris, Rebekah Kennedy, Becky Turner, Lynette Elliott, Stephanie Peterson, Greta Norris, Benjamin Dane and exec produced by Steve and Jan Thompson owners of Mom’s Café in Justin, TX where the movie was filmed.

      “Jenn Gotzon is an amazing actress who brings joy and talent to her work,” states the film's director Mike Norris.

      “I Am Gabriel” is the first of nine family entertainment, faith-based movies and/or values-enriched redemptive films, Gotzon stars as a main character coming soon to theater 2012 &13. Psychological romance drama “Doonby” (John Schneider, Robert Davi), political thrillers “Dragon Day” (Scoot McNairy, lead opp. Brad Pitt in upcoming “Killing Them Softly”), “Untouched” and French and Indian War best seller novel “Alone Yet Not Alone” (opens Easter season 2013) are yet-to be released. Though, she’s an up-n-comer actress of several Faith and Family-Friendly movies in the faith-based film movement (“God’s Country,” “The Screenwriters” (“October Baby’s” Jason Burkey), “September Skies” and The Divine Comedy series), Gotzon is passionate about playing protagonist roles in movies about complex subject matters. She screens her films for large groups followed by discussions to inspire and impact audiences to overcome life’s obstacles and live your dreams. Gotzon speaks to thousands throughout New Orleans, AMTC, churches, schools and film festivals. Her career broke after working with director Ron Howard as President’s daughter Tricia in Oscar-nominated Best Film “Frost/Nixon,” same year, Gotzon received Best Actress for short-film “Stained” (168 Film Festival) and 2008 Rising Star Award (Wildwood by the Sea Film Fest).

      Gotzon is repped by manager Worthy Patterson of Evolution Entertainment (Charlie Sheen, Mayim Bialik), attorney Harris Tulchin, (exec produced “The Devil’s Double” starring Dominic Cooper) and publicist SDI Entertainment, a small PR company inspired by Gotzon in honor of her late manager-publicist Scotty Dugan, former editor for The Hollywood Reporter.
