Correction: Arnica Quartet Announces 2012-2013 Season

Aug. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- The Arnica String Quartet is proud to announce its 2012-2013 season, which combines both cherished masterpieces of the past and some of the most exciting works of the present day. The season includes the West Coast premiere of Russell Platt's Quintet for Bassoon and Strings, featuring Oregon Symphony Principal bassoonist Carin Miller Packwood; and the Oregon Premiere of conductor/composer Esa Pekka Salonen's Homunculus for String Quartet. Benjamin Britten's Centenary year is celebrated with a performance of one of his last works, his Third String Quartet.  The season also features an exciting collaboration with the 45th Parallel String Quartet in works for string octet, including two rarely heard works by Shostakovich and Bruch, and ending with Mendelssohn's miraculous Octet.
