Aug. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Goodwill shoppers will now have two new Goodwill Retail & Donation Centers to shop in. In September, North Fort Myers-based Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. will open a Donation Center & Book Store in Naples (1795 9th Street N.) and a Retail & Donation Center in Estero (10351 Corkscrew Commons Dr.).

The Naples Donation Center & Book Store will be Goodwill’s second book store. The first opened in Fort Myers in October 2010. “Our Fort Myers location was so successful. People always ask us when we are opening another book store,” says Kirsten O’Donnell, Goodwill’s Director of Public Relations. “We knew Naples would be a great spot to open our second location.”

The Corkscrew store will replace the current Estero Goodwill boutique located around the corner on Three Oaks Parkway. “The new location is just over 11,000 square feet, which makes it more than three times larger than the existing Three Oaks store,” states Robert Randall, Vice President of Retail and Operations for Goodwill. “The store will employ 20 workers- which is a big increase from the five employees currently at the Three Oaks store.” The existing Three Oaks store will close on Tuesday, September 11th.

The buildings both utilize greener construction elements including thermal insulation, windows and doors to properly seal the building and eliminate air leakage, native plant species throughout the landscaping, and energy efficient interior light fixtures. They also both feature  convenient drive-up donation drop-offs, so donors never have to even get out of their cars to donate! Both locations will accept donations of all items- clothing, books, household items, and furniture.

The Naples Donation Center & Book Store grand opening will take place Friday, September 7th, with a ribbon cutting at 8:45 a.m. The Corkscrew grand opening will take place Friday, September 14th, with a ribbon cutting at 8:45 a.m. Both stores will open to the public at 9:00 a.m.
