Aug. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, NY – Legal IQ, a division of IQPC, announces the 3rd Anti-Piracy and Content Protection Summit (http://www.antipiracycontentsummit.com), taking place November 13-15, 2012 in New York, NY.  The Summit brings together industry leaders and a diverse panel of experts to discuss the state of the industry and develop long-term strategies to combat Internet piracy.

After the failure of both SOPA and PIPA, efforts throughout the industry to create legislation combating piracy are ongoing.  But while these strategies are developed, Internet pirates remain heavily prevalent and are a constant threat to the industry.

Yet these threats can be averted with cross-company collaboration and the use of intermediaries, tracking and eliminating piracy threats.  Interoperability is essential in combating piracy, both through understanding the dangers across the industry and exchanging information on best practices of preventing these situations.

Another effort of vital importance to the industry is adapting to current and advancing technologies.  As Internet pirates constantly evolve and develop new strategies for their efforts, companies must follow their every step.  Maria Pallante, Register of Copyrights and Director of the US Copyright Office, commented that proper collaboration could only help this process.  She noted, “Cooperation, I would say, even with legislation, is going to continue to be important because we have to in part stay ahead of the technology or keep pace with it.”  The full interview, along with other resources, is available for download here: http://www.antipiracycontentsummit.com/MediaCenter.aspx

Entertainment, communication and legal service leaders from NBC Universal, Viacom Inc., DIRECTV, ESA and more will give their insights, knowledge and experience at the Summit, aiding in the strategic process revolving around Anti-Piracy and Content Protection.  For more information on IQPC’s 3rd Anti-Piracy and Content Protection Summit, please visit http://www.antipiracycontentsummit.com or contact Program Director Kai Hahn at Kai.Hahn@iqpc.com.
