Extensive database on Mahatma Gandhi now available for sale and subscription

Aug. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Berlin, 24 August 2012: GandhiMedia is an interactive, web-based database designed to support research and teaching associated with Mahatma Gandhi and India‘s independence movement. It has been established and is operated by the Germany-based not-for-profit enterprise GandhiServe.
The database consists of nearly 180 audio items (audio books, Gandhi's voice, music, oral history, records and audio tapes), over 17000 image items (designs, drawings, paintings, cartoons and photographs), over 800 video items (footage and newsreels, documentaries and feature films), and nearly 5000 writing items (newspaper articles, books, correspondence and documents).
The database is expanding gradually due to an efficient contribution system.
Now the GandhiMedia database has been made available for subscription and purchase. Interested institutions and individuals can purchase an annual subscription or get perpetual access to the database through subscription agents in Germany, Italy and India. Optionally, the database can also be purchased offline (on hard disk) and incorporated in existing databases, intranets etc.
A 10 – 50% discount is offered for purchases and subscriptions made on behalf of multiple institutions or sites, whether by university systems, associations, groups, consortia, or government entities.
