Michael Rock's newest children's book, “Bullied,” takes a look at the problem through the eyes of kids.

The story concerns brother and sister ants, Marty and Millie. They learn about bullying at a school assembly, but aren't worried about bullying since they've never been bullied themselves.

Months later, while on a school outing to the beach, Marty is bullied by some sand fleas, who threaten him and take away his camera.

Marty pulls away from his friends and other ants after the incident, and for a second even considers suicide. But then, he gets a visit from an old friend, Phyllis the Firefly.

She and Marty talk, and Marty realizes he has to stand up and tell everyone what happened so that no one else is bullied.

The school principal uses the incident as a teaching tool, and all the ants learn a valuable lesson about life.

“Bullied” is told in easy to read and understand language for children, and there is an emphasis on learning what bullying is.

At the end of “Bullied” are lists of signs of bullying, what parents can do, and websites to visit.

“Bullied” is available online at Amazon at www.amazon.com/Michael-Rock/e/B006C9CJ16

“Bullied” is the third in a series of Marty and Millie books, all of which are both entertaining and educational.
