I’m always stressing the importance of quality content to our vacation rental owners and property managers. In my conversations with vacation home owners you’ll hear me talking about how a vacation rental website can be penalized by Google if their content isn’t unique or if its of low quality. Rather than hearing me talk about it this time I’d rather show you how Google can kill your vacation rentals website. Your rental website is your single most powerful marketing tool in your vacation rental advertising plan. Google released an update to its algorithm this update is called the Panda update. The Panda update has affected millions of websites and how they are ranked in the Google  search results. One of purposes of the Panda update was to slap websites that have duplicate or low quality content and websites using black hat S.E.O strategies.  Google is in the business of providing useful information to its users.  Google understands the importance to continually improve the experience of its customers and users.  Google users hate to find search results that are unrelated, useless or a duplicate entry they’ve seen before, for that you’ll get slapped! The Google Panda is still being updated by Google and will keep us on our toes. In fact a Google staff member has made recent comments which lead to concern for those websites that will be in violation of its new criteria.
