-- Have you got green fingers? This Thursday 23 August, Glynn Vivian Offsite is holding a free, family drop in workshop at the YMCA Swansea, to design and make garden ‘Bird Scarers’ for Sandfields community garden project, Vetch Veg.
Working with artists Dave Pitt and Mary Hayman, use shiny fabrics and noisy knick-knacks to build a monster bird scarer to help keep the plants and vegetables safe from hungry birds.
Drop in to the YMCA from 11am to 3pm. At 3pm, Vetch Veg co-ordinator Owen Griffiths will join the workshop to parade down to Vetch Field to place the scarers in the allotment.
All workshops are free and open to everyone. No booking required, spend an hour or stay all day. Contact the Gallery Information line on 01792 516900.
All children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. And all parents must be available to join the procession at 3pm from the YMCA.
