| Is There a Future for Desktop PCs?They’re not portable, are typically costly and are said to be the sinking ship of the technological world. But can desktop PCs fight back from the brink?
By: weboptimiser One of the most commonly thrown-around phrases on the subject of PCs is that they’re “out of touch” with the needs and wants of modern tech users. Mobility has become the must-have of the most popular devices, surpassing the desktop PC in all its stationary glory. Technology news website, TechRadar, published a great article about the future of the desktop PC here. Mobile Gaming By the end of 2012, it’s estimated China will contain about 192million mobile gamers. Market researcher, Niko Partners, reported it’s findings that the number of mobile gamers already exceeds the total PC players in the nation, and that gap is only going to get bigger over the next five years. UK gadget company, Money4Machines, reports a similar trend in the UK, with customers looking to sell consoles like the Playstation 3 in favour of a device they can carry. The PS Vita is proving exceptionally popular, as are the iPod Touch, Nintendo 3DS and Asus Transformer Prime tablet. A Money4Machines spokesman said, “We buy lots of different gadgets from all over the UK, and we’ve noticed a very interesting trend in terms gamers not necessarily turning their backs on their consoles, but definitely looking into the next age of gaming technology. For many of them, that seems to include mobile technology. For the hardcore gamer, it’s definitely virgin territory.” For more information visit: http://www.money4machines.co.uk/ End
