| Unclogging a Tub with a Drain SnakeMakers of The Drain Claw have a new video that shows how to use their drain snake.
“There isn’t much that goes into most bath or shower drains other than hair and soap,” says Jacy Elsesser from the company. “Our drain tool is an easy to use snake that grabs hair and pulls it out with a simple push and twist motion, unclogging your tub.” The company says the average person loses about 100 hairs a day. Most of those are lost while in the tub or shower. The hair that goes into the drain can get caught on the crossbars at the opening of the tub or on the bracket that holds the stopper. Chemical drain openers are some of the most hazardous household products. If mistreated, they can potentially cause injury to eyes, lungs and skin. Chemical drain openers can damage clothing, wood, paint, flooring and countertops. Online sources state that up to 1700 people a year are treated for chemical burns from drain cleaners. “For a slow bath drain because of hair, it is nice to be able to get your drain flowing without having to use chemicals,” says Mr. Elsesser. “We make our tool in the USA and it is reusable.
