| ![]() Brooklyn Fiber Brings High Speed Internet Access to the Red Hook WaterfrontBrooklyn Fiber, in a first for the Red Hook waterfront, has brought high speed internet service to businesses in the historic piers jotting the Brooklyn coastline, directly across from the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan.
By: Brooklyn Fiber Anyone familiar with the area will understand this to be no small feat. Traditionally there were only two option for internet service in the area, Verizon or Time Warner. Brooklyn Fiber, a local startup, has begun to offer business customers in the area a third - many say vastly superior - alternative. "We have three priorities: value, quality, and choice," said Eric Veksler, CEO of Brooklyn Fiber. "To this end our internet service offering tends to be quicker, more reliable, and more competitively priced than what's on offer from the competition. Brooklyn Fiber offers business plans which, on average, are 30% cheaper a year than those offered by Time Warner or Verizon. They do not hold the customer to a contract - most new business customers with the other carriers are required to sign a 1, 2 or 3 year contract. Additionally, Brooklyn Fiber boasts over a 99% uptime. And they offer same day or next say service. "Plus, we're honest" continues Veksler. "If we feel you have a better internet service option than us, we'll tell you. So far, we haven't had that conversation with anyone," laughs Veksler.
