MMA Events Will Help Local Kids in Organized Sports

Aug. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Hard Knocks Fighting, a local Mixed Martial Arts promotion business backed by  Canadian wrestling Olympian (2008) and Calgary lawyer Ari Taub, has adopted KidSport Calgary as its official charity partner. KidSport Calgary is pleased to announce that Taub has committed 50% of the proceeds from HK27 on Friday September 7/12, and HK29 on Friday October 26/12 at the Subway Soccer Centre (7000 - 48 Street S.E. Calgary, Alberta ) to KidSport Calgary which strives to remove the financial barriers that prevent some kids from playing organized sport. Calgary United Soccer Association (CUSA) will also receive a portion of the proceeds.

Commenting about this new partnership, Taub stated, “Every kid deserves the opportunity to play and we believe through organized sport, kids learn important life lessons like co-operation, team play, friendship, and commitment to goals. I personally share this belief too because everything that I've achieved in life is because of sport”

Hard Knocks Fighting is the fastest growing MMA promotion in Canada and the September event will mark the company's 27th show. To date, HK has raised over $90,000 for local athletes, community organizations, and charities - KidSport Calgary being one of those charities.

MMA also happens to be one of the fastest growing sports amongst the 50+ sports supported by KidSport Calgary through registration fee grants and subsidies provided to low income families in Calgary and area.

VIP tables located cage side seat 8 people and include a roast beef dinner catered by All Beef Catering. General admission tickets allow fans to watch the action from the bleachers. Over 2000 are expected to attend each event. Sponsorship opportunities are also available as HK events are televised on Shaw TV, The Fight Network, and viewed online.
