Mr. Anil Mohan, IMT CDL Alumni – IMT CDL gave me my own unique identity within the organization

Aug. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Mr. Anil Mohan, Senior VP, Personnel and Administration with the Jaypee Group and a celebrated alumnus of IMT CDL, was recently profiled on Zee Business. In a programme segment called ‘Management Edge’, Zee Business was trying to explore why a retired police officer like Mr. Anil Mohan would turn to premier distance learning programmes like IMT CDL. They were even more curious since he is already well-established in the top management of a corporate conglomerate.  “For me it all started when, within the Jaypee Group, a Leadership programme was organised. I was amazed to see that our founder, Mr. Jay Prakash Gaur, even at the age of 81, had an immense thirst for knowledge, and actually advocated the same very strongly for his employees. I was one of the many within the organisation who felt that to evolve as a professional, I will have to enhance my management education. I thought to myself, ‘when Mr. Gaur can do this at 81, I am too young by his standards’. I began looking out for a programme that would give me my own unique identity within the organisation and help me grow. I zeroed in on IMT CDL, and without informing any of my colleagues, enrolled for the course. I was doing this course not to prove a point to anybody else, but to myself; that I still have the ability to understand and grasp new things and be able to integrate them in my working style.”

Mr. Mohan feels that IMT CDL not only equipped him with the necessary vocabulary, but also helped map his immense experience as a government servant with his current corporate role, paving the way for his growth.

“In the corporate world, when people want to advance careers, three things are of prime importance – knowledge, skills and attitude. While skills and attitude are addressed by most companies, there is literally no space for knowledge-building in organisations. Owing to the daily pressures, most employees become executors and everybody is involved in transactions. To be able to get out of these daily transactions and begin thinking strategy, it is imperative that a knowledge base is built. Distance Education like that provided by IMT CDL effectively bridges this gap.”
