Aug. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- The sector is an extremely important part of the county’s booming £9billion economy with many well-known brands originating in Somerset. Part of the ‘So Well Connected’ marketing campaign, the impressive and imposing 48 sheet posters, which have been strategically placed at key motorway service stations, Fleet and Gordano, illustrate successful Somerset household favourites such as Thatchers Cider, Yeo Valley and Styles Ice Cream.

Somerset based design and marketing agency, Impact Design, has designed the bold advertising campaign. Paul Wells, Head of Design at Impact, says, “Being able to use such recognisable brands has enabled us to promote the county as a place for successful business, on top of being a real bonus for us in creating eye-catching adverts! We hope to capture the imagination of people passing through the county, either for work or whilst on holiday in the South West, and show them that Somerset is a great place for business as well as lifestyle.”

The Somerset food and drink sector is thriving, with high quality ingredients available on the doorstep and plenty of agricultural land available – it is truly at the forefront of a dynamic and constantly evolving food culture. The sector employs more than 15,000 people – 8,500 of which are farmers and food producers – and the sector is valued at around £508million, giving Somerset an established top quality reputation within this sector.

Styles Farmhouse Ice Cream, an award-winning farmhouse ice cream business, uses traditional methods and processes to manufacture its products for the consumer. The business, which started in the Exmoor valleys over twenty years ago, is now a highly successful brand in both the South West and across the UK.

Simon Stokes, Commercial Director at Styles, says, “It is fantastic to be able to work within such a beautiful and well connected part of the world. At Styles, we use local ingredients wherever possible and employ up to 50 locals, especially during our exceptionally busy summer months. We have had a lot of great support from both Into Somerset and the Somerset Chamber of Commerce to help grow the business and now we export our luxury ice cream all over the UK and beyond. We wouldn’t want to operate from anywhere else!”

Into Somerset offers a tailored business relocation service, giving advice and information to facilitate the process.
