July 30, 2012 - PRLog -- this just confirms everything. perhaps GM is going through their entire marketing program and are finally figuring out that nothing is getting done. most companies are use to spending money as long as they are making a profit but perhaps GM will be the giant that gives corporate haircuts.

i encourage companies to go into their marketing department and sit down with them so that they can explain what the hell is being done to get them found by consumers and investors. the budgets are outrageous, ad agencies getting paid hundreds of thousands, so called online marketing firms are getting checks for 500K, creative web designers that charge for junk. i know an action sports company in San Diego getting milked 1400 from a marketing firm just to re-size a jpeg. i think companies must put the hatchet down. they must cut whats not working. marketing can be a joke and a waste of money. i have seen the best of the best fail because of the clowns they hired. everything online is measured. marketing should get results. if the results do not work. then they need to put in strategies online that produce numbers. small emerging growth companies and fortune 500 companies should sit down with their marketing department. instead of getting "wooed" by some fancy brochure- they should ask- how can i get that brochure done less expensively and how are we going to drive traffic to this brochure. i guess most older people still do not get the internet and how to market effectively. how can i expect these old ceos and marketing departments to adapt as long as they get a paycheck -
