WebTeam Corporation partners health insurance company to teach NJ pupils how to create mobile apps

Innovative technology meets young talents from New Jersey to create opportunities for learning and development in applied education.

July 24, 2012 - PRLog -- The NJ LEEP program, which creates opportunities for local schoolchildren to showcase their talents in different academic fields, has a new participant this time around as Somerset-based technology firm WebTeam Corporation, together with a leading health insurance company from New Jersey, has joined hands to present information on how to develop a mobile app from the scratch.

The basic objective of the NJ LEEP program is to help young learners build core skills by giving them exposure to challenging academic environments involving law, mathematics and other disciplines.

Organizers of the workshop believe it is important for these young students to perform at higher academic levels while still in their high-school days, so as to inculcate in them leadership skills and professionalism before they enter the business world.

Earlier in Feb 2011, WebTeam Corporation, globally recognized for their technological expertise and innovation, initiated talks with the health insurance company over the development of a series of simple games apps. In June last year, WebTeam Corporation inked a deal with the local firm to develop two games apps – Image Hunt and Healthy Memory, besides offering content development services.

Tim Sharp, program coordinator at WTC, resonated with optimism about the NJ LEEP program, saying that “Those involved in the program knew the correct answers to most of the questions asked regarding app development”, which showed the young learners were knowledgeable and well prepared to develop an app on their own. “It is very possible for these few involved with NJ LEEP to create an app of their own. They might have not been looking to major in the technology field, but they definitely have the knowledge and dedication to make it happen.”

Nish Parikh, CEO of Rangam Consultants Inc. and the chief architect of Shanesh COLORS Program for children with autism, said, “I strongly believe the success of the NJ LEEP program will inspire healthcare providers to think of novel ways to expand their services and reach out to larger demographics.”

Rangam Consultants, together with WTC, developed Shanesh COLORS – an ABA-based program designed to provide autism intervention on kiosks and mobile devices. The globally popular Shanesh COLORS series of mobile apps aims at providing supplemental intervention on the basis of a learner's IEP goals.
