They are extremely trainable as a pet. They learn even faster than puppies and can be litter trained in a few days if you want to keep them as indoor pets.

You will need to pig proof your house though, just as you would with a 2-year old child.

Teacup pigs are very curious and very smart. They spend most of their time trying to figure out how to get more food. They will even learn how to open the refrigerator, cabinet and pantry doors.

They will learn very fast during the training period. And the best way to train them is, you guessed it, with food.

As a baby, your mini pig will need to be fed 1/4 cup of pig feed twice daily. For training and snacking purpose, healthy fruit and vegetable are the best. Remember that dog and cat food are not healthy for them and avocado and chocolate are toxic to mini pigs.

They will need to have access to water at all times. But remember that they can overturn their food and water bowls easily since they have a powerful snout. A heavy wooden pet feeder will help remedy this problem.

Teacup pigs make wonderful pets and have an expected lifespan of 15 to 20 years. They are very good with children and other pets. They are small enough to live in an apartment, as they normally do not get bigger than 20 pounds. They do not smell nor shed.

They are not destructive like a puppy dog, but get easily bored: They instincttively like to explore with their snout, so when you cannot supervise your pet, you shoud keep him in a pen or crate.

So, do your homework before getting a teacup pig, and if you do, you will certainly fall in love with your little piggy and definitely stick with turkey bacon.
